A panic at six-and-a-half months post procedure (DEC 2020)

Alternating heart beat 6.5 mths pa     Had the ablation 6.5 months ago. Had a few periods of tachycardia, but hotter monitor showed nothing major. Had four episodes which lasted longer and I needed  a dose of PIP. This week I've been rushing around and have probably done too much and yesterday morning I felt really tired and lightheaded. Lunchtime I noticed my heart was alternating between fast and normal every 20 secs or so (sometimes 2 sometimes 57 secs of each, all totally randomly). Eventually I took my PIP and felt better once it worked, but then last night we were out (!) And had a nice meal, (but not stupidly big) and begun to feel very faint. It last about 20 minutes and I realised my heart was now going normal and really slow! It settled down later and was okay all night as far as I can tell. ·          But today the fast/normal thing is happening again and I feel lightheaded and tired again, but I am re...

Getting over a cryo-ablation - report six months post procedure (NOV 2020)

Cryoablation feedback after six months All was going well until a few weeks ago when I had two episodes of fast heart rate which required a pill in the pocket intervention to calm down. I took that after 15 mins and it worked after 15 minutes. Luckily although I've been having fast HR episodes about 5 times per day none have lasted longer than 1-7 minutes. Papworth arranged for me to wear a 48 hour monitor so shall have to wait and see what that shows. Other than that all is good. I'm cycling once per week and riding my electric assisted bike once per week. I've used the rowing machine a bit, and I'm on my third week of couch to 5k running (I call it running but its really shuffle 1-2 mins, walk 1-1.5 mins). So to sum up, for the sporty ablation patient, I was able to the following at these stages (and the Arrythmia nurses reassured me that I was doing the right thing by being active) Pilates, yoga, stretching after 4 weeks, Weight training, lighter than usu...

Getting over a cryo-ablation - a sudden panic (AND A BIKE CRASH!) at about five-and-a-half months post procedure (NOV 2020)

A sudden panic after 5.5 months AND A BIKE CRASH!   Help!!!! This was all going well and I was 95 percent back to full vigour and life, when Thursday I suddenly got a fast heart rate. This has happened before but formerly for about a minute or a lot less. This time it last 30 mins with me taking 100 mcg of flecainide as instructed after 15 mins. Nothing major since. It's thrown me into a total tailspin, happening so long after the ablation. Though I've only been off amiadarone for 5.5 weeks. I can't face the thought of another ablation followed by yet another six months of 'cripple' life. I've had that for the last 16 months!!!!! I'm being so feeble about this, but I'm so depressed and scared by it.....  Actually, thinking about it a few days later I wonder if it was triggered by a hefty fall I had on my bike last week? It was 5 days before the first tachy episode. Several friends have said it might have been triggered by the crash, is that possibl...
